I think I first heard Opening is the New Closing from Iannarino - but then as I scoured the globe for sales methodologies - there were some 101 style outbound books, and tons of scripts, templates, and e-books floating around. Nobody had dedicated an insane amount of rigor, AB testing, and study just to the top funnel. After all, without a meeting, a custom is impossible. Why are 10,000, even 25,000 sales trainers who came before me so focused on the AFTER "they agreed to the meeting" piece. If I could solve the first problem - I yield to the value of the greats like Bosworth, Miller-Heiman, Sandler, Spin, Challenger, etc.
This is era defining work, Justin! It will be loved and championed, hated and criticized, and yet be a foundational paradigm shift in outbound sales culture. I'm honored to be learning and applying your life's work at the beginning of its widespread circulation. Excited for what's ahead!
Humbled to be in the shadow of one of the greats! Even after decades of being in the space I've had to destroy my preconceived notions about how to do things. Cut the anchor, burn the ships. There's no going back the old bad habits. If you can't destroy at least one of your most coveted sales techniques after engaging with Justin, may not be ready for insights he will reveal. I've been fortunate to see a preliminary draft of the book and it's really pulls you in. What are you willing to destroy to achieve better results.
